1. Overview

This page explains how to delete your Kobo Marketplace account operated by Kobo Republic. Deleting your account closes sign-in and stops active use of your shopper, merchant, partner, and rider profiles linked to that account.

For broader privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy. To delete specific data without closing your account, see our Request data deletion page.

2. Delete your account in the Kobo Marketplace app

Follow these steps on Android:

  1. Open the Kobo Marketplace app.
  2. Sign in with your account.
  3. Go to the Profile tab.
  4. Tap Close account.
  5. Choose a reason, enter your password, and confirm.

Use your email and password to sign in. If you signed up with Google, you can still close your account from Profile after signing in with Google.

After confirmation, you are signed out and can no longer sign in with that account.

3. Delete your account on the web (merchants)

If you use the Kobo merchant dashboard:

  1. Sign in at koborepublic.com/merchant.
  2. Go to SettingsClose account.
  3. Enter your password and confirm.

4. Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app or merchant dashboard, email us from the address registered on your account:

koborepublic@gmail.com

Use the subject line: Account deletion request

Include the email address or phone number on your account. We may ask for additional verification before processing your request.

5. What happens when you delete your account

  • Sign-in is disabled immediately.
  • Active sessions are ended.
  • Linked merchant, smart partner, and rider profiles are paused or stopped.
  • Your store will no longer appear to shoppers if you were a merchant.
  • Scheduled activity tied to your account stops.

6. Data we delete and data we may keep

When you delete your account, we stop active use of your profile information.

We may keep certain records when required by law, including:

  • Order and transaction history
  • Payment and wallet records
  • Tax, fraud prevention, and dispute records
  • Support communications related to your account

These records may be kept for up to 7 years where required for legal, tax, accounting, or compliance purposes. After that period, we delete or anonymize them where possible.

We do not sell your personal information.
